ABOUT NESO

Neighbourhood Enlightenment and Safety Organisation (NESO), formerly known as Nigerian Elite Security Organization, was founded in 2010 as a non-governmental organization (NGO) following a merger by a group of patriotic Nigerians who hitherto where under two different legal bodies propagating communal watch and intelligence collation and compliment government efforts at combating terrorism and insurgency in the country. The two registered bodies that merged to become NESO were the Elite Advancement for Peace Initiative and Elite Trend Organization. NESO is spread all over Nigerian’s 774 LGA’s with 37 state commands and a membership over 70,000 strong. With this strength NESO is now more focused and better positioned to deliver the much-needed intelligence assistance to the armed forces and security organizations in the ongoing fight against terrorism and allied forms of insurgency. In our honour as Nigerians, we pledge our unflinching loyalty to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and support the constitutional security and intelligence agencies.

To assist in creating sustainable safety and security in Nigeria.

MISSION

To provide support intelligence to constitutional regular Security and Intelligence Agencies, while propagating and engendering a free, peaceful and united Nigeria.

Protecting and enhancing the lives of every Nigerian citizen and residents in collaboration with security and intelligence agencies.

.OBJECTIVES

  1. To engender security consciousness in our local communities.
  2. To provide community-based network for committed patriots as agent of a secure, safe and peaceful nation.
  3. Training of personnel to imbibe and disseminate a new culture and psychology of positive nationalism and patriotism towards building a virile, peaceful and prosperous nation.
  4. Providing a pool of resourceful, committed Nigerians as volunteers for Para-military duties.
  5. Deploying the methodology of assimilation as an unconventional means of intelligence collation towards curbing criminalities before the gain root in our society.
  6. Providing a template for communal peace and cohesion as a boost to the prevention of insurgents and terrorist migration.

MEMBERSHIP

The membership of NESO comprises of patriotic and security conscious adult Nigerians from every field of human endeavor. This includes core professionals, technocrats, retired but not tired military personnel and those from the menial community including laborers, farmers, tradesmen and tradeswomen, and even the physically challenged, whose vision is to free Nigeria from the rising tide of terrorism and insurgency.

PARTNERSHIP

NESO is in partnership with select community-based organizations (CBOs) on security and other developmental objectives that would make Nigeria bigger, better, safer and prosperous for every law-abiding persons.

We also partner with human rights organizations like the CLO, MPGGI, RDV etc to ensure that in pursing our mission we respect the entrenched rights enjoyed by law-abiding persons.

Our partnership outreach is ongoing with a view to building a web or community of civilian intelligence.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

NESO is run by a 12 member Board of trustees, comprising credible Nigerians deliberately selected from all works of life, having vast experience in their fields of endeavor, many whom have served in very senior endeavor, many whom have served in very senior governmental positions in the past.

PROSPECTS

In just in a few years of existence, NESO can modestly assert that it has contributed its own quota to matters of serious implication to national security. NESO is actively engaged in the peace-building process ongoing in the north east and north central region of the country.

Our prospects, therefore, is to sustain the current impressive tempo of discipline, resilience, doggedness, drive and commitment of our members and personnel to serve our motherland in collaboration and under the supervision of the Security and Intelligence Agencies of government.
